Orgelbaumuseum Schloss Hanstein e. V. (Organ Building Museum Hanstein Castle e. V.)
Organ building has a 400-year tradition in Ostheim v. d. Rhön. Reason enough to set up an organ building museum in Hanstein Castle (built around 1490). Beginning with the presentation of a "Hydraulos" from the 3rd century BC, replicas of medieval instruments and numerous original organs from the Baroque to the modern era are on display in 15 rooms. The corresponding sound is conveyed by listening stations and "sounding museum tours" during which the organs are played live. The special orientation as a family museum ensures that this "big" topic is also exciting for the little visitors.
