NordJURA-Museum (North JURA Museum)
You can literally hear the thunder of the guns when you stand in front of the cannons from the Thirty Years' War in the Weismain Kastenhof (built between 1701 and 1703 according to plans by Johann Leonhard Dientzenhofer) and are glad not to have been in the besieged town at the time. Here in the NordJURA-Museum, which is designed as a landscape museum for the northern Franconian Alb, the formation of the Jura landscape, religious life on the Obermain, crafts and trades such as brewing, fishing and shepherding as well as the fauna and flora in the North Jura region with its diverse landscape of mills are also explored.
