Naturhistorisches Museum der Akademie (Natural History Museum of the Academy)
Valuable, unusual and curious objects can be marvelled at in the Natural History Collection of the University of Dillingen. It was established with the founding of a mathematical-physical museum in 1757 and includes rare prepared objects: Animals, skeletons and skulls, marine animals, insects and rocks with minerals and fossils that the lecturers brought back from their travels as special items. The natural history cabinet in particular, reconstructed on a historical basis, provides a wonderful insight into the scientific view of the world in the 18th and 19th centuries. Still entirely in the spirit of a curiosity and natural history cabinet, the objects here are arranged according to themes and explain "Sacred Animals", "Human Family Tree", "Fist Wedge Culture" and "Magic Stones of Superstition Culture" as the world was understood centuries ago.
