Museum Naila im Schusterhof (Museum Naila in the Schusterhof)
From 1850 to 1945, white embroidery was an important branch of industry in Naila. The museum in the Schusterhof reminds us of this and shows examples of this hand embroidery "Frankenwälder Art", including the 8.36 m² "Schlösserdecke". The local tradition of mining goes back almost 1000 years, and there are also exhibits on traditional costume, popular piety and town history. And of course, a cobbler's parlour is a must in a cobbler's yard. The shoe collection of the Seifert & Klöber company from 1896 to 1990 is on display here, representing the flourishing local shoe industry.
In 1979, a hot air balloon from the GDR landed near Naila. The refugees donated the balloon and the tiny gondola, which had to accommodate four adults, four children and the gas cylinders for the balloon, to the town of Naila.
