Museum im Bierlinghaus (Museum in the Bierlinghaus)
For 250 years, the Bierling family of merchants played an important role in Bad Bayersoien and supplied the surrounding population with their goods. The museum in the former Bierling department stores' shows the life and work of the family, as well as exhibits on the history of the town and the trades that once lived there. The office of the merchant's house is worth seeing, with fully preserved furniture and inventory. The adjoining living quarters of the Bierlings vividly illustrate upper middle-class living in rural areas. The museum is complemented by documentation on the origin and use of the surrounding moor and an extensive collection on popular piety.
