Museum für Stadt- und Familiengeschichte Marktsteft (Museum for town and family history Marktsteft)
Time and again, individual families determined the fate of entire towns: Florence had its Medici, Augsburg the Fuggers and Marktsteft - Marktsteft had the Keerls! Without this family, the village of Steft would have remained one of many villages along the Main River. But history was quite different: Steft became a port town, the Reformation took hold and manufactories were opened. The Museum for town and family history tells the story of how this came about under the motto "The Keerl family - 450 years of bourgeoisie in Marktsteft" and, along with the rise of this patrician family, also sheds light on the everyday life of the people of Marktsteft under the rule of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach.
