Museum "Alte Mine" Faber-Castell
From black and grey factory rooms covered in lead dust to the laboratory: the writing instrument manufacturer Faber-Castell has invested a great deal of effort in transforming the historical rooms of the lead production facility in Stein into a testimony to industrial history that can be experienced. A tour leads through the nested building, which was built in 1848, and shows the chronological sequence of the former craft trade and the special features of lead lead production in the 19th and 20th centuries. For comparison, windows allow a view into the modern production rooms.
