Glittering crystals, shining gemstones, fluorescent minerals or meteorites from the asteroid belt and the planet Mars - the University of Würzburg's extensive collection comprises more than 10,000 objects and provides insights into topics such as the formation of our earth and the solar system. There are also rocks and minerals from the region around Würzburg and from globally significant ore and mineral deposits, including historical ore deposits in the Harz Mountains (Peter C. Ruppert Collection).
