The former stables in Landwehrstraße in Kempten (Allgäu) were built around 1730 by Prince Abbot Anselm von Reichlin-Meldegg. It was part of a larger, but never completed, economic area in the northern part of the abbey town. The original plan was to build a farm building for the new monastery here. It was to have three inner courtyards and be connected to the abbey malt house. After several redesigns, only the stables were finally realised and today it stands as a silent witness to past history in Landwehrstraße in Kempten and serves as an attractive setting for exhibitions.
