"Prosperity for all!" Ludwig Erhard introduced the social market economy to the young Federal Republic of Germany with this goal in mind. It is no coincidence that the first Federal Minister of Economics and second Federal Chancellor, who was born in Fürth in 1897, is considered the "father of the German economic miracle". On around 1,200 square metres, the permanent exhibition at the Ludwig Erhard Centre invites visitors to get to know this important figure in German post-war history, discover contemporary history and experience the social market economy. Staged presentations and interactive media stations also make the visit exciting for young people and help them to understand the economic context of the world around them.
