Lithographiesteinarchiv und druckhistorische Werkstätte (Lithography stone archive and print history workshop)
Important information:
Until well into the 20th century, the results of the official Bavarian survey were reproduced using lithography, i.e. etched into Solnhofen limestone slabs. The stone archive, consisting of more than 26,000 stones, is unique in the world and is a listed monument. In the print history workshop, various printing techniques are explained, from copperplate printing to offset printing.
