A rich cultural and historical collection awaits visitors to the Landestor Museum (Landestor Museum) in Furth im Wald. In the building of the former hospital, they gain a comprehensive insight into the eventful history of the town, which has always been shaped by its border location with the Czech Republic. The exhibition "Border Experiences" sheds light on the common past from the Hussite wars to the present day. Right across the street lives the Further Drache, the main actor in the Further Drachenstich - the oldest folk play in Germany. In winter, you can even marvel at the current high-tech dragon, the largest walking robot in the world. Everything about the mythical creature, borrowed from the Christian legend of St. George, can be found in the dragon museum. The Landestor Museum (Landestor Museum) not only takes you deep into the world of legends, but also high up: the city tower with a view of the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest is a rewarding conclusion.
