The Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf (House of artists Marktoberdorf) is dedicated to contemporary art. With its clear, cubic brick architecture by the Swiss architects Bearth and Deplazes, it is a unique art building. Current positions and traditional approaches are shown and made tangible. Part of the exhibition activities, in connection with the municipal collection in the house, relates to art in the administrative district of Swabia. With over 100 artists represented, the municipal collection represents a cross-section of Allgäu and Swabian art since the 1970s.
