Künstlerhaus Gasteiger (Artist house Gasteiger)
The sculptor Mathias Gasteiger (1871-1934) was one of the most renowned Munich artists around 1900, married to Anna Sophie Gasteiger (1877-1954), who made a name for herself primarily as a flower painter. The artist's residence, built between 1902 and 1913 on the banks of the Ammersee, with its residential house and surrounding farm garden as well as farm buildings, is a unique ensemble of Munich Art Nouveau. The museum contains the Art Nouveau furnishings of the rooms, historical photographs, a selection of Mathias Gasteiger's sculptures and a collection of paintings by Anna Sophie Gasteiger.
