Krügemuseum (Jug Museum)
They are brightly coloured, unique and world-famous: the Creußen jugs. Stoneware from Creußen was widely popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. It was good manners for the nobility and patricians to have richly decorated drinking jugs made with their own coat of arms or name. Planetary" and "apostle" jugs were particularly in demand. But simpler everyday wares are also presented in this museum, which gives a comprehensive overview of the production and craftsmanship of the Creußen master potters with around 150 exhibits.
