Over 2000 minerals can be marvelled at in the Kristallmuseum Viechtach (Crystal Museum Viechtach), including 200 opals, a 600 kg amethyst, rock crystals and luminous UV minerals. An additional theme is the legend of the natural monument "Pfahl", a huge quartz vein that rises to the surface near the town.
