Kornhäuschen (Grain cottage)
The Kornhäuschen, idyllically situated in the middle of the countryside and directly on the Main, was given its name in 1805, shortly after the completion of the columned hall. At that time, it was used by farmers on rainy market days to store their grain, which they sold on the nearby Schlossplatz. Today, the ground-floor building, which is characterised by its large floor-to-ceiling windows, is an exhibition and project space for contemporary art. The windows also make it possible to view the artworks from outside around the clock, regardless of opening hours.
