The Kößlarn pilgrimage church has the last completely preserved medieval fortification in the old Bavarian region. The small Kirchenmuseum (Church Museum) is also housed here. It provides information about the fortified church complex, the pilgrimage to the image of Our Lady of Kößlarn and church customs during the church year. The most valuable exhibits include pilgrimage devotional objects from four centuries, a late Gothic palm mule and a funerary Christ, the oldest chasuble in the Passau diocese and a Baroque nativity scene with figures from the Schwanthaler workshop of the 18th century.
