Kirchenburgenmuseum (Fortified Church Museum)
At 75 x 75 m, Germany's largest preserved fortified church, with its five towers, six bastions and double ring, is more fortified than many a hilltop castle and is a jewel of late medieval fortification technology. Today, the Kirchenburgenmuseum (Fortified Church Museum) is located in one of the gaden (secure storage rooms) and provides information on Ostheim's fortified church on three levels, as well as on the fortified churches of southern Thuringia and Lower Franconia in general.
