Bayerisches Donauland-Museum (Bavarian Danube Museum)

Special features:
Free entry.

Right at the entrance, comedian Django Asül welcomes visitors to the Bavarian Donauland Museum as an entertaining castle ghost in the person of Prince-Bishop Urban von Trenbach. The exhibition shows the eventful history of the castle, the market with its famous Schwarzhafner ceramics and the Danube as a "cultural pearl necklace" in Bavaria. Among other things, the oldest bicycle in Bavaria from 1818, spectacular works of art from the "Danube School" around 1500, curious portraits of Passau prince-bishops from around 1700 and important historical models of Danube ships from the 19th century are on display. In addition, original media stations in each of the three sections invite visitors to actively explore and discover. Furthermore, the virtual "local history archive" brings the history of the market town of Obernzell in the 20th century to life.
