Jüdisches Museum Franken in Schnaittach (Jewish Museum Franconia in Schnaittach)
The branch of the Jewish Museum of Franconia was set up in the synagogue built in 1570 with its adjoining rabbi's house and ritual bath, a unique ensemble of its kind in Germany, and its permanent exhibition presents the most important collection of artefacts of Jewish rural culture in southern Germany. It includes not only objects from religious rituals, but also numerous everyday artefacts from the Jewish rural community. The traces of history, from the heyday of the Jewish community to the destructive interventions after 1938, are also visible and thus comprehensible in the synagogue room itself.
