The Internationales Keramik-Museum (International Ceramics Museum), a branch museum of the Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum Munich, in the so-called "Waldsassener Kasten", an exemplary renovated baroque building in the city, offers a fascinating insight into the art and culture of ceramics: changing contributions from up to six Munich state museums show highlights from 7000 years of world ceramics, from the early advanced civilisations to the present day. The permanent exhibition "Porcelain from China - The Seltmann Collection" with porcelain objects from the last imperial dynasty is also unique.
Due to the renovation work in the Ceramics Museum, neither the holdings of the Museum Fünf Kontinente (Museum Five Continents) nor those of the Neue Sammlung are currently on display.
