Historisches Fabrikgut Hammer (Historical factory Hammer)
The Hammer factory estate is one of the most important sites of a fortified medieval industrial settlement in Europe. Brass products were produced almost continuously in this hammer mill from 1492 until its destruction in the Second World War. Today, an exhibition and the historic buildings, some of which date back to the 16th and 17th centuries, provide an insight into the over 600-year history of the factory village and its early exemplary social system.
