Bobsleigh history was written here. The winding bobsleigh track at Riessersee was notorious for spectacular falls: Daring lads once sped downhill here at top speeds of up to 120 km/h. In addition to various major championships, the bobsleigh races of the 1936 Winter Olympics were also held here. Today, the world-famous race track is a listed monument and can be walked through. The bobsleigh museum with 17 historic bobsleighs and other exhibits is only 350 m from the finish line. Original film footage recreates the atmosphere of past sporting events.
