Historische Ochsentretanlage im Brunnenhausmuseum (Historic oxen treadmill in the Fountain House Museum)
For over 200 years - until 1923 - oxen were responsible for the princely water supply in Schillingsfürst. They drove a treadle disc, which was used to pump the water to the higher castle. This wooden pumping station, now unique in Germany, can be viewed in the well house and is an impressive example of a piece of technical history. The living conditions of the former well keeper's family in the 18th century can also be seen, and the four storeys of the baroque tower showcase old craftsmanship.
