Important information:
The history of the town of Abensberg can be experienced in the Herzogskasten. From the Neolithic Age, when Abensberg was an important mining centre, to the heyday of the town in the 14th century and the Battle of Abensberg, in which Bavaria fought on Napoleon's side against the Austrians, right up to the present day, the history of Abensberg spans an arc.The Herzogskasten is a late medieval granary from the 15th century. It is located directly next to the ancestral castle of the Lords of Abensberg.
