The exhibition tells the local history of Wörth an der Isar, always with reference to the main theme of the Isar. The core themes of the permanent exhibition are the special features of the river landscape and the natural area along the Isar, the settlement for over 7000 years and the development of the Isar valley by the railway and motorway. It shows how economy and industry, culture and customs, regional traditions such as beer brewing and leisure activities have always characterised life in Wörth. On the tour through the exhibition, visitors can find out about the individual main themes of the castle/tavern/brewery, post office/railway, church, community and school using exhibits, media consoles, audio stations and a folding game.
