Heimatmuseum Höchstadt a. d. Aisch (Museum of local history Höchstadt a. d. Aisch)
The local history museum invites visitors on a journey through Höchstadt's 1000-year history. The collections on the history of the town, crafts and guilds, the old pond economy, folklore and popular piety are spread over three floors. A separate section is dedicated to the Höchststadt Brazilian explorer Johann Baptist Ritter von Spix. The highlights of the museum are the wooden sculpture of Anna Selbdritt from a Franconian workshop around 1510 and the unique specimen of a wood shaving flag as the guild flag of the carpenters and locksmiths. The bone remains of a woolly rhinoceros found in the region are also spectacular.
