Heimatmuseum Donauwörth (Museum of local history Donauwörth)
An old smokehouse and the living rooms in this former fisherman's house on the island of Ried give an idea of the living conditions of our great-grandparents. Fishing also plays a major role in the Donauwörth Heimatmuseum (Museum of local history Donauwörth), as it was an important source of income for the inhabitants of this island in the middle of the old town. Since 1932, there has been a museum of rural craftsmanship here, which also presents interesting facts about metal craftsmanship, for example on the subject of "keys and locks" or on the last knife and tool smith in Donauwörth, Josef Guggenmos (1897-1977). Also worth seeing are the votive pictures from surrounding places of pilgrimage, which tell adventurous stories from ancient times.
