Local and regional history is displayed in 14 rooms of the Heimatmuseum Dettingen (Museum of local history Dettingen). The "Battle of Dettingen" in the War of the Austrian Succession in 1743, to which Georg Friedrich Händel's "Dettingen Te Deum" is dedicated, is of particular importance. Numerous objects provide an overview of the battle as well as power and socio-political issues. An original furnished flat with kitchen, living room and bedroom gives an idea of the life of a middle-class family around 1900, and the "Children's Worlds" show historical toys. Other sections present objects on early history and village life in the 19th and 20th centuries.
