Heimat- und Industriemuseum Wackersdorf (Museum of local history and industry Wackersdorf)
Since the 1980s, the name Wackersdorf has symbolised the (successful) resistance against nuclear reprocessing plants. And yet it was a different type of energy generation that had a lasting impact on Wackersdorf and the region: open-cast lignite mining. Its methods and the drastic changes it brought to the town and the landscape are presented in detail in the Heimat- und Industriemuseum (Museum of local history and industry). Local history and club life also have their place, as well as prehistoric archaeological finds and a collection of minerals.
