Haus der Stadtgeschichte (House of the city history)
Donauwörth's long and eventful history comes to life in the only preserved town gate. Numerous exhibits, including the Markturkunde from 1030, coins from the Staufer period and the 16th century, a sword and the coat of arms of Charles V, who in 1530 gave the imperial town its coat of arms, which is still valid today, document the town's development. Another theme is the political struggles for the town in the 17th and early 18th centuries and finally the bombing in April 1945, which destroyed three quarters of Donauwörth. Landscape paintings from the Romantic period and models of rafts show historical life on the river. In the Lovriner Stube (Lovrin parlour), the local community of Lovrin-Banat displays memorabilia from their old homeland.
