Even today, you can still vividly imagine the sounds of the old hammer mill: Three heavy "tail hammers", which were driven by a large shaft from the outside water wheel, a heavy grinder or spring hammer and drill have been faithfully reconstructed in the Hammerschmiede-Museum (Hammersmith Museum) and bear witness to the arduous process of iron smelting and processing.
