Gollachgaumuseum Uffenheim (Gollachgaumuseum Uffenheim)
Regional history has been collected in Uffenheim since 1914, so it takes three neighbouring buildings to show all aspects of the Gollachgau Museum: the Schnellerturm, Schranne and Oberamtskanzlei. The Schnellerturm tower, originally the south-western cornerstone of the town fortifications from the 15th century, now houses the folklore department. Bourgeois and rural living culture, a collection of militaria (18th-20th century), valuable Bibles and hand-coloured maps from the 17th and 18th centuries can be found here. In the Schranne granary (built in 1702) there is a collection of agricultural implements from the 17th to the 20th century (currently not open to the public). The workshops and showrooms set up in the former Oberamtskanzlei (Chief administrative office) show the history of the town and the diversity of Uffenheim crafts, as well as archaeological finds from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. The finds from the Neolithic period are of supra-regional importance, illustrating the development of the region from the last hunter-gatherers to the beginning of the prehistoric metal age.
