Plaster is useful for closing holes and after broken bones. However, this is usually where the knowledge about this material ends. The plaster information centre is here to help. It explains how gypsum is formed and where it is found, what it can be used for and why it can even be found in food - and in Sulzheim they should know, after all, gypsum has been quarried and processed here for centuries. Gypsum has also created a botanical gem near Sulzheim: the gypsum hills with their steppe vegetation, which is unique in Germany.
