On 16 April 1927, Josef Aloisius Ratzinger - later Pope Benedict XVI - saw the light of day in the former electoral office and toll house that dominates the market square. His birth room can still be visited today. In addition, the house, built in 1701, houses a permanent exhibition on the life and work of Joseph Ratzinger and also serves as a meeting place.
