Freudenthal-Altvater-Heimatmuseum (Freudenthal-Altvater Home Museum)
In 1945/46, more than 10,000 displaced persons from the Sudetenland found a new home in Memmingen. Most of them came from the Jägerndorf district and from Freudenthal in the Altvater Mountains. The Freudenthal-Altvater Home Museum is dedicated to the memory of this old homeland. It tells of the history, traditional costumes and customs of the Sudetenland, but also of expulsion and new beginnings. An information terminal offers audio examples of the dialect of the Altvater Mountains.
