Close to the Bohemian border, the rural past has found a reserve. Rural building, living and economic activity are presented in holistic ensembles, in more than 20 farmhouses, entire farms, village smithy, chapel and roadside inn from the Bavarian Forest. A walk-through piece of the past unfolds in the open air. All things are in their original context: the small and the large, the new and the patched up, the coarse and the beautiful.Tanzerhof, Schanzerhäusl and Sachl document small-scale farming existence. Never before has a farm the size of the Petzihof been transferred as a whole to an open-air museum.
