The former free imperial village of Gochsheim has one of the last remaining fortified churches in Lower Franconia. The Gaden (one-room houses) on the inside of the protective wall from the 13th/14th century are now home to the Free Imperial Village Museum. In 18 rooms, it shows numerous aspects of Gochsheim's history, from peasant living culture to traditional costumes and vegetable growing. A printing workshop with a bookbindery and a cooperage show old crafts, and a large section is dedicated to the history of the bicycle.
