"Better to have a lot of fun than a little trouble. This is just one of the 300 or so folk sayings with which one of the oldest countryside museums in southern Germany can boast. They adorn household goods of all kinds here, including many jugs, plates and bowls from the important and extensive faience collection. The main theme of the Fränkisches Museum Feuchtwangen (Franconian Museum Feuchtwangen) is life and living in the small towns of Franconia, presented in living rooms from Baroque to Art Nouveau. The important collection covers 2000 m² of exhibition space and includes rural and middle-class furniture, ornate household goods, gifts of love, objects of custom and religious art. And it shows that the objects have many facets - colourful, witty, charming, naive, ambiguous, crude, artistic and above all: always original.
