He cracks his whip and "babbles" in a disguised voice behind his wooden mask, while countless little bells jingle on his colourful suit: The Fasenickl is one of the most dazzling carnival figures in the German-speaking world. Kipfenberg has the oldest historical sources on this custom and has dedicated an entire museum to it. In addition to information about the "Fasenickllaufen" and the production of the elaborate costume, visitors can marvel at original costumes from the last 200 years in the former gatekeeper's house, which are impressive in their colourfulness and intricacy.
