Schrobenhausen and asparagus are usually mentioned in the same breath in Bavaria. It is therefore not surprising that it is home to Europe's only museum specialising in asparagus. In the old fortified tower of the town wall, you will find everything to do with this popular vegetable: history, botany, cultivation, art and curiosities. For example, special tools and implements show the labour-intensive cultivation of asparagus. Special exhibits include a herb book from 1664, a Meissen asparagus lid box from 1780 and silver asparagus tongs from the Russian court jeweller Carl Peter Fabergé from 1890.
