Ehemalige Synagoge Sulzbach (Former synagogue Sulzbach)
Built between 1822 and 1827, the synagogue was once considered the most beautiful in the whole of Bavaria. It survived the Reichspogromnacht in 1938 unscathed, but was remodelled several times after the Second World War and used as a storage room. Following thorough renovation, it has been restored to its former splendour since 2013 and now serves as a memorial and meeting place. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to the history of the Jewish community, and a separate section in the former women's gallery commemorates the Europe-wide importance of the Hebrew printing works in Sulzbach, which existed from 1669 to 1851, as well as Sulzbach as a Bible printing town.
