document Legionslagermauer (document legion camp wall)
Suddenly, you come across walls made of mighty ashlars in Regensburg's old town centre: the almost 2000-year-old legacy of the 3rd Italic Legion, which built a fort for 6000 soldiers here in 179 AD. Spread over three areas - Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Hunnenplatz and the car park on Dachauplatz - the "document Legionslagermauer (document legion camp wall)" brings together the largest preserved sections of this Roman fortification.
The core of the "document Legionslagermauer" is located in the Dachauplatz multi-storey car park, where the information centre shows film sequences on the significance and history of the Roman wall as well as virtual ideal reconstructions.
