Deutsches Skimuseum (German Ski Museum)
The town lies in the middle of Munich's gravel plain, and yet a visit to Planegg is a must for every ski enthusiast: after all, the headquarters of the German Ski Association is located here, along with its Deutsches Skimuseum (German Ski Museum). It houses one of the most important collections of ski exhibits in the world and reflects the development of skiing from its beginnings around 5000 years ago to the present day. Numerous exhibits, some of them unique, authentic visual material and rarities of ski film bring ski history to life. In addition to the numerous social aspects of skiing, the development of German skiing over the last 100 years, especially in the two German states from 1945 to 1990, is also highlighted. A section of the exhibition is also dedicated to the subject of "Biathlon in Germany". Here visitors can try out for themselves how accurate they are with the (laser) rifle.
