Burgenmuseum Eisenberg (Eisenberg Castle Museum)
Eisenberg, a noble castle of the late Middle Ages, was destroyed in 1646, towards the end of the Thirty Years' War. Some of the numerous finds unearthed during excavation and conservation measures in the ruins are on display in the village of Zell at the foot of the castle hill, in particular tools, some richly decorated tiles as well as everyday objects that allow conclusions to be drawn about the late medieval life of the Eisenberg nobility.A separate room is dedicated to the conservation measures on the neighbouring ruin of Hohenfreyberg.
