Bezirksmuseum Dachau (Dachau District Museum)
On three floors, the Dachau District Museum displays more than 2000 objects relating to the cultural history and folklore of Dachau and the surrounding area. The thematic focus is on the history of Dachau, the trades and guilds as well as the rural living conditions of the 18th and 19th centuries. These are documented, among other things, by a chamber wagon with a bride's trousseau from around 1900, the replica of a house facade and the staging of a rural living room and a bedchamber. The famous Dachau costume is also presented in detail. Of particular importance is the exceptionally complete collection of amulets and documents on religious folklore.
