The town's name is no coincidence: copper finds in the 12th century turned out to be so important that the mining settlement was granted town status in 1326.The mining museum provides information about the region's oldest branch of industry and gives insights into its over 400 million year old rock history with the help of geological and mineralogical exhibits. The comparison of historical and modern mining methods shows the difficult conditions under which these mineral resources were extracted in the past, and a Historic visitor mine makes it possible to experience this. A mining hiking trail complements the exhibition.
