That the people of the Middle Ages were by no means as unkempt as they are often said to have been is proven by the numerous bathing rooms of the time. They were not only used for bathing, but also for socialising. A preserved village bathhouse (in operation from 1486 to 1876) can be visited in Pommelsbrunn.
