AtelierMuseum Magda Bittner-Simmet Stiftung (AtelierMuseum Magda Bittner-Simmet Foundation)
Almost 100 years of Munich's contemporary and cultural history are reflected in the life and work of the Munich painter Magda Bittner-Simmet (1916-2008). The artist's house with its large garden, which she built in 1972 in the style of the time, is located directly on the Schwabing stream. The former residential studio on the top floor houses the AtelierMuseum Magda Bittner-Simmet (AtelierMuseum Magda Bittner-Simmet Foundation), which is run by the Magda Bittner-Simmet Foundation. Magda Bittner-Simmet lived and worked here as a successful Munich painter and sought-after portraitist during the years of the German economic miracle. As a representative of expressive realism, Magda Bittner-Simmet placed her colourful oeuvre under the motto "Festival of Colour". The AtelierMuseum offers an overview of her artistic oeuvre with a representative selection of portraits, cityscapes, still lifes and landscapes.
